The KYOWA — Kentucky, Ohio, West Virginia — Writers is hosting the Dogwood Writers Conference, Friday-Saturday, April 26-27, at Greenbo Lake State Park. KYOWA, once a chapter of Romance Writers of America (RWA) but now over a decade old, began the conference because traveling to conferences at other cities was expensive and overwhelming for many writers.
Speakers include Jeff Jobe, owner of Jobe Publishing along the I-65 corridor, children’s author Susan Nicholls, and LuAnne McLane, USA best-selling novelist.
KYOWA dropped its RWA affiliation and became a Tri-State organization for all writers about three years ago. Our members include newspaper columnists, fiction authors, non-fiction book writers, children’s authors, freelancers and bloggers.
Dogwood is the KYOWA premier event. Attendance is capped at 50 that makes it affordable ($50 per person) and keep an intimate feel. A number of the attendees who were in the “I want to” stage when they began attending are now published and still keep coming back.
