The Daily Independent seeks an experienced, innovative editor for our top newsroom leadership position in the newsy region of northeast Kentucky.

The editor is responsible for news and opinion content in the seven-day morning newspaper and on the paper’s website, working with a newsroom staff of 14.

Candidates need a strong management background, editorial writing skills, entrepreneurial print and digital credentials, and the ability to coach the staff to do superior journalism, including major public service projects and watchdog reporting.

This is a 40-hour full-time position which includes early morning and weekend hours. The primary responsibility focuses on maintaining consistently high quality home delivery service to newspaper subscribers through independently contracted delivery agents within an assigned geographic area.
