Moving toward the Sesquicentennial; design the logo

Now that I’ve learned to spell that word, meaning the 150th anniversary, I gotta use it as much as possible.

In less than two years, KPA will become 150 years old and the celebration will be taking place January 24-25, 2019, at the KPA Convention. We’ll be returning to the Marriott East in Louisville for the celebration.

The KPA Board is in the process of planning the events and special activities that will last longer than just the convention. And YOU will be involved. We’ll get you more information as it develops but we are looking at getting special front pages from each KPA member newspaper to put on display. Not just at the convention but perhaps at the Kentucky History Center and other locations.

One of the first things is getting a 150th/Sesquicentennial logo and we’re looking to you and your staff for that. As witnessed in the KPA Ad and News Contests, we have some really good graphic artists in KPA. So help us reach out to them to design that 150th anniversary logo. They can email it to me — dthompson@kypress.com — and put in the Subject line — 150th logo. We’ll lend special attention to the emails with that Subject line.

Watch for more information and watch from some special notes in On Second Thought and in emails that will keep you up to date on the festivities.
