Reminder: June 29 is date legislation enacted during 2017 session takes effect

June 29 is just around the corner and that’s important because it’s the date most all of the legislation passed in the 2017 session will take effect. There’s a chance a few bills approved had an “emergency” clause attached and those took effect upon the governor’s signature.

One of the bills to make sure you’re aware of is Senate Bill 150 that involves advertising of long-term care facilities. Those attorneys who frequently pass along alerts about the facilities through advertising — including results of inspections, surveys and other news — will have a new set of standards to include in their advertising.

Here’s a pdf of Senate Bill 150 as enacted so advertising staffs should keep it handy and be ready to share with any attorneys or their advertising agencies wanting to place ads about long-term care facilities as of June 29.
