This free tool tells you when sources try to make quiet changes online

Klaxon, created by The Marshall Project, is a free tool that tracks changes to websites you want to keep an eye on. Klaxon works as a bookmarklet that you set up in your browser. You click the bookmarklet and highlight whatever text you want to track. Klaxon will email you whenever a change is made. This tool is used by organizations like The New York Times and The Associated Press. [Full story: Poynter/Kristen Hare]
