The Todd County Standard newspaper and parent company is for sale,
said owner and publisher Ryan Craig.
Craig said there would be no noticeable change to the newspaper now
that it is for sale, and it would continue to be one of the leading
newspapers in the state.
Craig said he wanted to announce the sale in hopes the paper could
remain a local operation.
“I think keeping a local owner would be great for Todd County and its
citizens. There are some fine national corporations who could purchase
the newspaper, but that might mean not having local people running the
operation and I’d hate to see that.”
Craig said he would also consider taking on a partner in running Craig
Craig said the newspaper is not going out of business, and the
decision to put the paper up for sale didn’t come easy.
“This move is for the best to maintain the level of newsgathering and
production for the Standard that our readers have become accustomed
to,” Craig said.
Ryan is the 2017 KPA/KPS President.
