Aargh!! The misuse of the English language, especially in sports, is demoralizing

Missouri Is Looking For Their First SEC Win Against UK

Any sportswriter, headline writer, or even a graduate of the sixth grade knows Missouri is an “it.” Granted if it said Tigers or Missouri Tigers the word “their” is appropriate. But Missouri, alone, or UK, or other such identity takes an “it.” Yes, it is one of my biggest pet peeves.

But then this example, from a Lexington TV station website, mirrors the biggest culprits who do not know the English language are those in the broadcast media.
