Former Paducah Sun editor Carrie Dillard has joined the Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce, the organization announced recently.
She will serve as the chamber’s programs and public policy director, focusing on workforce development initiatives and programs as well as business advocacy efforts associated with the group’s legislative agenda.
Dillard graduated cum laude from the University of Southern Indiana with a degree in English and worked at newspapers in London and Morganfield before going to Paducah.
She started working at The Sun in 2014 before being promoted to editor in 2018, managing a staff of 14 in addition to other publications owned by Paxton Media Group. She held the editor post until her resignation in early 2020.
In addition to her duties with The Sun, she also served on the Kentucky Press Association Board of Directors for two years and was named KPA’s Most Valuable Member for 2019 by President Jay Nolan.
