It’s not finally finished, still a few tweaks that have to be done but last week, we launched the new http://www.kypress.com website. The previous one had only been in place for 15 years so it was worn out, not contemporary and pretty static. We worked with Customware Inc., the Frankfort firm that has written a lot of software for KPA/KPS over the years, to create a more active, more modern, useful website. And it seems Customware did succeed.
One of the new additions is the ability for all KPA members to place Help Wanted ads on the website. Simply go to https://www.kypress.com/post-a-job/ and fill out the form. Disregard the Have An Account? and Sign-in at the top of form. Once submitted, it will be reviewed for approval and then posted. Journalists looking for a job can go to the Help Wanted link at the top of the page and check Help Wanted to see what openings are around the state. This is a free service to KPA member newspapers and Associate members, and just $10 for an out of state newspaper to post a Help Wanted.
Make sure in posting a job, you give instructions on how to apply. There will be a link at the bottom for those individuals to click on if they wish to apply for a job posted.
Under “Legal Resources,” we’ve posted a pdf of the Reporter’s Pocket Guide to Open Meetings and Open Records. Rather than restating the two laws in full it’s in a question and answer format to be able to address specific situations. It’s in a downloadable format as well.
For advertisers or others needing information from KPA, we’ve also created a “Contact Us” form. Advertisers can fill it out, indicate what kind of an ad they’re interested in then submit the form and we can give me a call or return an email. Advertisers can request information on one of the networks and can also request a quote through the Contact Us form.
And it’s in Captcha format to weed out spammers.
Again we’re still working on some tweaks and updating information but check it out — http://www.kypress.com
