Recommends KPA intern experience for all aspiring journalists
The Messenger-Inquirer expanded my horizons as a journalist and provided the most enjoyable workplace environment I’ve experienced thus far in my career.
As an intern reporter, I covered general news, but also had the opportunity to write immersive features and spot news — including an early-morning wreck in which a woman ran her car into a local restaurant. I discovered my new favorite breakfast spot that day, as well.
The M-I helped me grow as a writer through the advice and guidance of my fellow reporters and editor Bob Bruck. It also introduced me to great friends and memories I’ll always hold dear.
I highly recommend the KPA experience to all aspiring journalists, especially if the M-I so happens to be the host.
