But don’t get spoiled having it on your desk (ok, computer screen) first thing each Friday morning. Isn’t gonna happen with any regularity.
But it’s out early today because the KPA/KPS Board of Directors will be meeting at My Old Kentucky Home State Park in Bardstown. And I’ll have to get there a little early to make sure everything’s set up and ready to go.
There’s a story in this week’s On Second Thought about Woody, Chloe and your two cents worth. If you want that series to continue, then we’ll need you to help out.
And we are also going to be talking about the Kentucky Press News Service today. It is perhaps the most innovative member service of any state press association. And since its inception on October 1, 2009, I’ve always said, “It’s free for the foreseeable future.”
Well that future is past and it’s time now for participating newspapers to help financially with that service. Remember, you basically have to do very little to get access to some 50,000 stories that we’ve posted in the last eight years. Or the 5,000 editorials. You’ve benefited from the stories, haven’t paid a penny but the recommendation to the Board today will be to change that and help KPA offset the substantial cost of providing the Kentucky Press News Service.
As with the Woody and Chloe Fall Chapter Series, I’ll share with you the discussion, recommendation and any action by the KPA Board on the issues.
