And at least two deadlines are nigh upon us, a third looming in mid-November. You live by deadlines on news for your issues and especially deadlines for your advertising clients. We’re not different at KPA. We have deadlines for most all of the programs and services we offer.
Like next week.
Thursday, October 18, is the deadline to nominate an eligible KPA member for Vice President of the organization for 2019. To be eligible, the person must be a current Board member, a previously elected Board member, or have served three consecutive years as a State At-Large Board member.
The list of eligible members is below. Nominations must be received by Thursday, October 18, and you can email me at dthompson@kypress.com with your nomination.
CONTESTS — 4:59 p.m./Eastern, Friday, October 19. That’s the deadline to submit your entries in both of our contests — the KPA Advertising Excellence in Kentucky Newspapers, and the Excellence in Kentucky Newspapers News Contest. Registration on the online system is required before you can do anything so if you haven’t registered, you need to do that NOW!!
Haven’t registered and need to. Forgot the URL that lets you upload your entries? No problem. Go here.
And if you have registered, thank you!! Now get to finding your entries for both contests and start uploading those.
2019 RATE AND DATA INFORMATION — With 2019 being our 150th Anniversary, we’re hoping to make the 2019 KPA Directory one that will be special and shared across the state with advertising agencies, state agencies, newspapers (of course) and even in other states. To make it really impressive, though, we need updated information about your newspaper. That’s why we have made available to you the 2019 Rate and Data brochure and asked publishers and ad managers to fill it out and return it to us.
The deadline is November 12 because there are other things to do, thing about, worry about but thanks to the dozen or so newspapers who went ahead and filled out the form — online — and returned it to use quickly. Now only about 160 remain to be received.
Simply go to http://www.kypress.com/rateanddatasheet/ and find where you fit — Weekly/Daily member, Associate Member Newspaper, College/University Student Publication, Online Publication and complete the areas then hit SUBMIT. That’s all there is to it. (In the seconds it took to write this segment, the Berea Citizen and Mt Vernon Signal submitted their completed form.
Here’s the list of individuals we have identified as being eligible to serve as KPA Vice President. Past Presidents are no eligible to be nominated.
