Good Giving Challenge hits $1.8 million; right at $11 million this decade for non-profits

Blue Grass Community Foundation co-sponsored the ninth annual GoodGiving Challenge that just wrapped up its 2019 campaign. Thanks to generous donors, the Challenge has raised $11 million for our region’s hard-working nonprofits since its inception in 2011. Chris Eddie with Smiley Pete Publishing, involved with the project and an Associate Member Newspaper of KPA, said $1.8 million was gathered this year.

The Challenge ran from Tuesday, December 3 through Monday, December 9. You can check out this year’s participating nonprofits, totals for each and a breakdown by agencies in surrounding counties at www.BGGives.org.

Blue Grass Community Foundation inspires and promotes generosity, and the GoodGiving Challenge is just one way we do this. We are also committed to endowment building. We know that endowment funds — permanent charitable capital — are investments in our community’s future. They are the best way to ensure a nonprofit’s sustainability since they provide yearly operating dollars in perpetuity. That’s why Blue Grass Community Foundation is offering endowment prizes to nonprofits participating in the 2019 Challenge. We will also offer other exciting prizes and matching pools throughout the seven fun-filled days of the Challenge.
