Jon Fleischaker, the foremost authority on Open Government in Kentucky, author of the Open Meetings and Open Records laws, and KPA general counsel, is being honored October 19 by the National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) Louisville Section.
Congressman John Yarmuth is serving as honorary chairman of the event, entitled ‘Jon Fleischaker: A Champion for Transparency and the First Amendment.’
The NCJW is using the David Richart Gala Award Dinner as the impetus to raise money for the Family Drug Court in Jefferson County. All of the proceeds from the event will go to getting the Family Drug Court underway in 2018. Four sitting Family Court Judges have volunteered to be the initial judges for the court.
The dinner will be held at 6 p.m. October 19 at The Temple, 5101 US 42/Brownsboro Road in Louisville.
Nearly $150,000 has already been pledged to fund the Family Drug Court through this celebration.
