Host Newspapers selected for 2017 internship program

The KPA Past Presidents met Thursday, January 19, during the KPA Convention and selected 19 newspapers and KPA itself as hosts for the 2017 Kentucky Journalism Foundation internship program.

The KPA Past Presidents serve as the board for the foundation and oversee selection of the Host Newspapers for each summer’s internship.

Besides KPA, which will utilize an online journalist during the summer, the Host Newspapers include the Kentucky Standard, Bardstown; Bowling Green Daily News; Corbin Times-Tribune; Cynthiana Democrat; Danville Advocate Messenger; Dawson Springs Progress; Elizabethtown News Enterprise; Todd County Standard; Falmouth Outlook; LaRue County Herald News; Citizen Voice and Times, Irvine; Oldham Era; Madisonville Messenger; Crittenden Press; Maysville Ledger Independent; West Kentucky News, Paducah; Richmond Register; Stanford Interior Journal; and Spencer Magnet.

KPA will be sending information to the 19 newspapers in the next few days and will encourage them to begin reviewing the applications and interviewing students.
