It’s gotta be the heat: What else would be keeping newspapers from registering for the 2018 News and Ad Contests?

We’ve climbed to 29 newspapers that have registered for the 2018 KPA News and Ad Contests. That’s up a grand total of six newspapers in the past two weeks. So the heat wave we’re experiencing must be the reason. Otherwise, a minute isn’t a long time to take to get your newspaper signed up and ready to go.

It’s either the heat or all the charter KPA members…KPA meaning the Kentucky Procrastinators Association…have renewed their membership in that other organization.

Seriously, it takes less than two minutes and then you’ll be all set. Because without registering you won’t be able to get into the online system to upload your entries.

TO REGISTER: go to and fill out the seven lines then SUBMIT. When it asks for the Association Code, type in KYCONTEST and it is case sensitive so put it in ALL CAPS!!!

The absolute deadline for having all entries to KPA is 4:59 p.m. Eastern time on Friday, October 19.

If you’re not listed below, you aren’t registered. Now this day just before the last holiday of the summer of 2018, I don’t expect many of you will register. You’re thinking of the boat trip to the lake, the weekend away from the office, the golf game, the grocery shopping list for the cookout or a host of other things that take place of the Labor Day holiday. But make a note that come Tuesday, registering will be the first thing you get done.
