KPA panel to participate in Travel Industry annual conference


Three editors representing the Kentucky Press Association will be participating in a panel presentation at the Kentucky Travel Industry Association’s annual conference.

The conference is scheduled for in October at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Louisville. The KPA session is set for October 24, 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.

The program segment is entitled “Getting Your Story Straight.” Whether it’s the softer side of tourism news or the hard news that sometimes occurs, newspaper coverage can have a significant tourism impact. A panel of Kentucky editors provide newspaper coverage insights and best practices. Three-person panel of editors engaging in a question and answer discussion with a KTIA moderator, followed by Q&A with the audience. The moderator will be someone from within the tourism industry who has strong media relations experience. Introduction by David Thompson, KPA.

The panelists from KPA are David Brock, managing editor, The State Journal; John Nelson, editorial director, Landmark Community Newspapers; and Joel Christopher, executive editor, The Courier- Journal, Louisville.
