The Kentucky Press News Service, a rather unique approach to allowing newspapers to share news stories hit a milestone this week. It’s not passed 64,000 stories shared since the service began on October 1, 2009.
News stories were shared from the beginning and a few years later, editorials were added to the offerings. In all, the news and editorials shared among participating newspapers would exceed 70,000.
In some cases, perhaps in most cases, participating newspapers don’t pay for the service. But depending on how the stories are shared or in what platform there could be a minimal charge to access the stories.
