A letter with a ballot was mailed Wednesday to the publisher/general manager of each voting member of the Kentucky Press Association. The ballot is for the 2020 KPA Vice President position. Two nominations came forth from the KPA Board at its Fall Board Retreat:
• Dennis Brown, publisher of the Lewis County Herald in Vanceburg
• Regina Catlett, co-owner of the Sebree Banner/Sturgis News
The one receiving the most votes from KPA members will serve as 2020 Vice President and as a member of the Executive Committee beginning at the winter convention in January. This is a one-year appointment. That individual will then serve as President-Elect in 2021, President in 2022 and Past President in 2023.
The text of the letter includes the ballot. The votes must be cast by 5 p.m. on Monday, November 25, by mail, fax or email.
So far the 2020 Executive Committee will be Jeff Jobe, Jobe Publishing, President; Jay Nolan, Mountain Advocate and Nolan Media Group, Past President; Sharon Burton, Adair County Community Voice, President-Elect; and Carrie Dillard, Paducah Sun, Treasurer.
