There’s a pretty long list of groups, including of course KPA, that will be commenting on Public Notice Advertising when the Interim Joint Committee on Local Government meets July 26.
You’d expect KPA, the Kentucky League of Cities and the Kentucky Association of Counties to have representatives appear before the committee. But the Legislative Research Commission’s tentative schedule shows at least eight groups going to the table.
Joining the League of Cities will be a representative of the Kentucky Municipal Clerk’s Association. The list of groups invited to appear before the committee include:
Kentucky League of Cities/Kentucky Municipal Clerks Association
Kentucky Association of Counties
Department for Local Government
Kentucky Press Association
Libraries and Archives
Kentucky School Boards Association
Department of Education
Farm Bureau
The meeting is scheduled for 10 a.m./Eastern in the Capitol Annex. The House and Senate co-chairs have asked each group to limit their comments to 10 minutes.
I plan on being joined at the table by Ashley Pack, KPA General Counsel, and Marc Wilson, Top Shelf Lobby.
You are invited to attend to hear comments from the interim committee as well as other groups involved in and affected by Public Notice Advertising.
