You looked outside today, saw the white stuff covering the ground and you immediately thought that it must be time for the 2022 KPA Winter Convention. Appropriately named.
The convention is just two weeks away, primarily on Friday, January 21 at the Marriott East in Louisville.
This will be KPA’s first in-person convention since 2020, held just weeks before the pandemic wreaked havoc on any kind of gathering and kept its grip tight under just a few months ago.
On Thursday, January 20, the KPA Board will be meeting at 3 p.m. and then have a dinner for Board members at 6. That’s the only event scheduled for Thursday.
Then all the focus goes to Friday with a full day of programming beginning at 9 a.m. Eastern. Programs will end at 5 p.m.
In between, at 12 noon, 2021 KPA President Sharon Burton will pass the gavel to 2022 KPA President Regina Catlett in the traditional Changing of the Guard ceremony.
Friday evening is devoted to a new contests banquet schedule, necessary when the Board squeezed a majority of all festivities into Friday.
At 6 p.m, we’ll have a contest reception and will show the 2021 KPA Advertising Contest results during that period. The banquet begins at 7 p.m., followed by the video presentation of the 2021 KPA News Contest. Our thanks to James Scogin, Brett Smith and Mike Scogin of the Georgetown News Graphic for putting together both contest videos.
OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE — Make your room reservations TODAY so that you can get the negotiated KPA room rate.
