Now is the time for newspapers or anyone else to sponsor high schools

By Stan McKinney, Kentucky High School Journalism Association

With the new school year well underway in our state, Kentucky newspaper publishers again have the opportunity to sponsor their local high schools in the Kentucky High School Journalism Association. KPA established KHSJA 20 years ago to be an advocate for high school journalism in the state. Two years ago, KPA turned over the operation of the high school association to Stan McKinney and Campbellsville University.

Most years about 70 percent of the KHSJA members are sponsored by one or more local newspapers. The support of Kentucky newspapers for KHSJA is strong. And teachers across the state appreciate your support.

To sponsor your local high school(s), go to and click on the story at the top. That will take you to a form that you can complete and email to Stan at Campbellsville University. The form includes the address, at the bottom, to send your check for $50 per high school sponsored.
