We have made progress. That’s the good news. Two or three years ago, I gave you the names of soldiers from Kentucky who were killed in Vietnam whose photo is needed. Many of you have helped locate a photo of the decreased soldier to be put on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund Wall. As of this week, there are just 46 soldiers from Kentucky whose picture has not been made available.
Below is a list of hometowns of those missing 46 and they come from 33 towns in Kentucky. Where you see a town/city listed with a number after it, that means how many missing photos there are from that town/city.
Please look at the list of towns and if one or more of those towns are in your county, then help VVMF find a photo of the missing soldier(s). Below that is a link to the vvmf.org/state-photos. Go to that link, scroll down to Kentucky and then click on the word “Missing” and it will give you the soldier’s name, birthday, hometown, and date of casualty in Vietnam.
Chances are good if you will list the information for the soldier(s) from your town/county, we can add Kentucky to the list of states that have provided a photo for all soldiers killed. Someone in the county, someone reading your newspaper will remember the soldier, know a family member and can then relay the information on to them. On the website, you can find information on how to provide a picture of the soldier to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund Wall.
Thank you in advance for this help. The soldier deserves it and the family probably is not aware of this memorial wall for casualties of the Vietnam war.
