Papers, one university step up to sponsor high schools

Each year, some KPA members newspapers and at least one university step forward to sponsor local or area high schools in the Kentucky High School Journalism Association. We could end up with around 100 schools as members of KHSJA and a majority of those come from the sponsorship of local papers and Campbellsville University.

Here are the papers and school sponsoring high schools so far for the 2017-18 school year.

The Pioneer News has sponsored 3 schools

The Advocate-Messenger has sponsored 2

The Meade County Messenger has sponsored 1

The Kentucky Standard has sponsored 4

Bowling Green Daily News, 5 schools

Campbellsville University has sponsored 10 schools in its service area

It only costs $50 to sponsor a school for the year in KHSJA — that includes student newspapers, yearbooks, online and broadcast.

For a sponsor form, go to www.kypressonline.com and click on the first story. It has a link to a sponsor form.

Friday, October 14 is the deadline sponsor one or more local schools — high schools or middle schools.
