Ricki Pryor has been named editor of The Richmond Register.
Pryor has been with the newspaper for the past five years and has worked as a journalist for more than a decade. “Madison County has a rich history, and I’m honored to continue chronicling it through the area’s most reliable and trusted news source. The past five years I’ve spent at The Register has been full of many learning experiences and many amazing people; I’m excited to continue that journey as editor,” Pryor said.
An award¬winning journalist, Pryor’s experience includes working in television, radio, public relations and newspapers in Kentucky, Georgia and Indiana. While at The Register, Pryor has spearheaded efforts to strengthen the newspaper’s digital footprint and visual storytelling through the use of video.
“This a well¬deserved and earned promotion,” General Manager Gary Tyler said. “Ricki’s experience, integrity, dedication to quality journalism and community involvement will have an impact not just on our readers, but all citizens of Madison County. In this day and age, a reliable, local news source, both print and digital, is more important than ever.
Prior to working in Madison County, Pryor was a reporter at The Anderson News in Lawrenceburg. She also served as a sports writer for Kentucky Sports Radio, and has worked for newspapers in Jasper, Indiana, along with Albany and Thomasville, Georgia.
