Scogin wins three-year term on KPA Board

James Scogin

James Scogin, with the Georgetown News-Graphic who won in a special election earlier this year, has won a three-year term on the KPA Board of Directors. A special election was held in District 13 after Catherine Boone left the State Journal earlier this year, leaving that seat vacant. The special election completed her term, scheduled to end in January.

Scogin defeated Anderson News general manager Ben Carlson in the special election and then won the full-term election vote against Carlson. The term will begin during the 2020 KPA Convention and continue through the January 2023 convention.

We announced in last week’s On Second Thought that Regina Catlett, Sebree Banner/Sturgis News; Steve Gaines, Bowling Green Daily News; Jane Ashley Pace, Oldham Era/Henry County Local; and Allison Shepherd, LaRue County Herald News had won three-year terms on the Board beginning in January 2020. They will represent District 3, 4, 5 and 6 respectively.
