Law Day is May 1. This day may not be as well known as Flag Day or Independence Day, but it was designated to celebrate how the United States uses laws to solve problems.
The Missouri Press Association’s Newspapers in Education has tied Law Day and Constitution Day together this year, with a series about the separation of powers, authored by the Missouri Bar’s new Director of Citizenship Education, Tony Simones. Learn more about why it was important to the Founding Framers to create a system of separation of powers in this first article and follow up with the next installment in September for Constitution Day.
