Publishers — Do you have a social media policy? Reynolds Journalism Institute is working on a story about social media policies in news organizations and asked me to find some Kentucky newspapers with policies in place.
If you have one, please reply to JENNIFER NELSON at RJI. Her email address is firstname.lastname@example.org
Thanx in advance. She’d like to interview some of those responding that they have do have these in place.
From Jennifer Nelson, Reynolds Journalism Institute
I have a story idea that I’m working on and I thought you might be able to help me find some news organizations. I’m looking for news outlets that have social media policies.
Here’s my assignment:
Evolution of social media policies in newsrooms for employees. Reach out to several newsrooms across the country and interview them on their social media policies. Do they have one they ask their employees to follow? If so, what is it? How do they monitor (if they do)? How do they make sure they don’t stifle a person’s 1st amendment, but at the same time they may not want an employee to speak as a potential “voice” for the organization.
