With the news that Advocate Messenger publisher Larry Hensley has accepted a position with Schurz Communications and will be relocating to Indiana in a few days, KPA is in the process of a special election to fill the Board seat in District 14.
A letter and nomination form were mailed to each publisher of full member newspapers in the district. It includes Boyle, Clark, Estill, Garrard, Jessamine, Lincoln, Madison, Mercer and Powell counties.
Nominations are open to any full-time newspaper employee of a KPA member as long as the person lives and works in District 14. Deadline for nominations is Wednesday, February 28. If two or more persons are nominated, KPA will conduct a vote of member newspapers in the district to elect the representative. If only one person is nominated, that person will be elected by acclimation.
The person elected will serve the remainder of the District 14 term that ends in January, 2019.
