Fast forward several years and Kevin Massey is now getting ready to graduate.
Massey graduates today from the College of Communication and Information.
The battle left Massey in a wheelchair and without sight in one eye but he has relished every opportunity given to him.
In a video posted by the University, Assistant Coach John Robic said he received Massey’s invitation and was moved.
“I almost cried,” said Robic.
Although he has faced multiple challenges, Massey said working with the team helped get him through the tough times.
“I mean it has its ups and downs, but being here with these guys and knowing they have my back…that means more to me than doing something easy,” said Massey, “I wouldn’t change it for the world.”
Coach Cal says that he only expects good things from Massey as he goes out into the world.
“I’m now looking forward to seeing what’s next. What’s he do next? Because it will be something that’s going to inspire all of us,” said Calipari.
